Marinakis, on the last day of the Greek transfer window, decided he needed to strengthen his English Championship side. The choice fell on Panagiotis Tachtsidis, a player from his other team, Olympiakos.
As the English transfer window closed on 9 August, the player's contract had to be terminated before the Greek window closed, leaving him free to sign for Nottingham Forest.
