The story of Andrew Robertson and Vincent Kompany goes back a long way.
Today Andrew Robertson is a world renowned player, not only as Liverpool's undisputed left back but also as captain of Scotland.

At one point, while still playing in his home country, in the third tier as an amateur for Queen’s Park, Robertson also handed out match programmes at Hampden Park, the famous guides with all the information about each game, sold in the UK before every match.
In a recent interview with Guardian, Andrew said that in 2013, when the Belgian national team visited Glasgow to face Scotland, he was tasked with escorting the injured Kompany to his seat. He handed him the programme and took a selfie with the giant centre back, which the Manchester City and Belgium captain probably didn't even remember.
The Scottish full back's rapid rise
Then the left back's rapid rise began. At the end of the season he signed for Dundee, where he got his first call-up to his country's senior team. A move to England followed, with three years at Hull City, and finally the arrival at Liverpool, with whom he reached the Champions League final in 2018.
But on 7 September 2018, five years after showing Kompany to his seat, there was a new reunion at Hampden Park, this time with both in the starting eleven, each captaining their country. The Belgians would win a convincing 4-0.
How Football Manager already saw him as a star
Kompany later said he remembered the photo taken with Andrew perfectly and already knew his inspiring story, having followed his career. Football Manager helped make that possible, since the Scottish full back was one of his must-buy players in the game, even before he signed for Hull.
"Sometimes you see people and immediately remember their face or the moments that happened. He probably doesn't know it, but I remember him. I used to sign him because it was very hard to find good left backs. I backed him and it worked out!"
