Over the past week, several new features were announced by Sports Interactive for their upcoming edition, which will be revealed to the public at the end of October.

The Road Ahead
The FM20 has rethought and refined the player's development path.
Managers now have the chance to closely control a player's gradual rise in status within the team.
This gives much more freedom to set out a development path for players to follow, from the moment they join our squad, whether signed or promoted from the club's youth ranks, all the way through to their final year of contract.
Contracts:
On the contracts screen, 12 statuses will be available, which we can assign for each year of the contract we sign with our players.
For example, we might sign a young talent with the future in mind, and so, with each contract year, his status within the team will rise. From young star in his first season, all the way to superstar by his final contract year.
This feature helps make clear right from the start what the player's target is meant to be, and how much playing time he'll get in each year of his contract with the club. This avoids potential conflicts that could hurt his satisfaction and cause friction within the squad due to lack of playing time.
Goalkeepers now also get their own statuses, starting as emergency backup, moving through cup goalkeeper, all the way up to becoming the team's first choice.
Another group who'll benefit from the development path system are loaned-out players. We can nownegotiate in much more detailwith clubs interested in our players' services, regarding how they plan to use them and set a minimum guaranteed playing time. Based on what's offered during negotiations, we can make better decisions about where to send each loan.
Besides the regular player development reports, at the end of each season, we'll be notified by the coaching staff about the changes coming in the following season.
This way, squad organisation is improved, and every player ends up with a set amount of playing time suited to their status within the squad.
