Graphical improvements
Every year, Sports Interactive tries to bring the playing experience a little closer to reality, and this year was no different, with a wide range of enhancements and new graphics introduced in FM20.
New player and manager model for FM20
The human model has had a substantial upgrade compared to FM19, now featuring more realistic anatomy.
Textures have also been refined, not just on managers' and players' kit, but on referees too.
Pitches
Pitches will now be affected by weather conditions. Not only will puddles appear on the pitch, making it heavier on rainy days, but excessive sun will also cause the turf to look lighter and more worn.
Another consequence of rain will be muddy puddles and drag marks left behind by physio carts, which will now show up on the pitch.
Lighting
Finally, lighting has been optimised. Shadows and outdoor lighting during matches are now more realistic.
