Spending your whole budget on a star and finding out two seasons later that you have no right-back is an FM classic. AlexJV Scout was built to prevent that. It is a free FM26 tool that sorts your squad into tiers and shows each position’s gaps in advance, so you can plan signings in good time.
The app is by AlexJV, who publishes release notes in French and English, and the latest version is 1.6.0, from 17 August 2026.
What AlexJV Scout does
- Squad hierarchy. It splits players into starters, backups and successors for each position.
- Forward planning. It shows each position’s needs one to two seasons in advance.
- Dressing-room impact. It simulates how a signing affects your squad leaders before you bid.
- 1-100 ratings. Attributes are converted to a common scale, so players are quicker to compare.
What is new in version 1.6.0
The big change is that, on Windows, the app now reads FM26 data directly while the game runs, without installing anything in the game. It no longer needs BepInEx on Windows, which simplifies installation and removes the risk of the game crashing because of the plugin. According to the author, the reading was validated on every field, attribute and position, newgens included. If you had BepInEx from an earlier version, there is an option in Settings > General to remove it.
Version 1.6.0 also brought a macOS (Intel) build. On Mac, however, BepInEx is still required. On Apple Silicon Macs (M1 to M4), the app runs through Rosetta, but BepInEx has no version for those chips yet, so it does not work.
