Updated version: Football Manager 2027 News: what we already know
Over the past week, several new features were announced by Sports Interactive for their upcoming edition, which will be revealed to the public at the end of October.

Development Centre
The discovering and developing young talenthas always been, and always will be, one of the most captivating aspects of the Football Manager series.
In the 2020 edition, planning and monitoring it has been made easierthrough the introduction of the Development Centre.
This department will be the hub for all our players' development activities, where we'll be able to track their progress through various tools, such as detailed monthly graphs, or even in-depth information about each individual player.
It'll be located in the left-hand sidebar, where the youth teams section used to be.

Here we'll be able to access information about the quality of our youth ranks, and which youngsters we should keep and develop in the short/medium term.
Our coaching staff will provide recommendations on who we should keep an eye on, and will highlight those they believe could easily make it into the first team.
That said, any player who's developing well, or who needs extra attention to reach his potential, will be flagged immediately as such.
The top section will be split into three (or more) divisions: loaned-out players, reserve teams and youth teams. Each with an overall rating of its players. Letting the user know from the outset what their future generations of youngsters will look like.
Over the years, it will let you see the impact of your youth policy (investment in facilities, coaching staff and recruitment) on the quality level of the young players coming out of your academy.

Previously we only had access to individual reports for our players, but now everything's on the same screen, with detailed information about each of them.
Who's managed to nail down a starting spot with good performances, and who needs to be recalled because they're not getting the playing time they need for their development.
New intakes of youngsters
The Development Centre will also provide a preview of upcoming youth intakes, with a tab created specifically for this.
Previously this was done through a friendly match, where you'd choose which players to keep.
From this edition onwards, we'll get advance information on the quality level and positions of the next intake, letting you plan possible signings and reinforce the positions most in need within your youth ranks.
Once the new intakes are available, you'll be able to see individual reports for each player, with their ability and potential clearly identified.

The Development Centre also includes individual tabs for the reserve teams and youth teams, where you can view their tactics and playing dynamics, training and analysis.
In these tabs, we can make changes based on our own ideas, such as having senior team players turn out for the reserve team via the tactics menu.
The last tab in the Development Centre is the coaching staff working across the youth ranks, along with scouts and the medical department.
Just like in the staff tab in the side menu, we'll be able to check the quality of the staff running our lower age groups compared to other teams, adjust training, see the recommended staff headcount, and post job vacancies.
