Knap’s FM27 tactics come as a full pack: three tactics, a set-piece routine and two training schedules. Knap is one of the best-known names in tested Football Manager tactics, and this pack was put together and shared on the Korean FMKorea community by 뚜또단 (Tuttodan), where it already has more than 30,000 views. So with six files, you have everything you need to start a season.
The three tactics in the pack
Each tactic uses a different formation. So you can pick the one that best fits your squad or use them as alternative plans.
- Highway Star 27 (4-2-3-1): first, a 4-2-3-1 with box-to-box midfielders, as the file name itself says («BBM»).
- Speed King 27 (4-5-1): a 4-5-1 that, according to the person who shared the pack, plays like a 4-3-3 in practice.
- Warrior 27 (4-4-2): finally, a classic 4-4-2, for teams with two good strikers.

Set pieces and training
Besides the tactics, the pack includes the A15.fmf file, with set-piece routines. In tested tactics, set pieces often bring a lot of goals, so it is worth using them together.
The two training schedules, tweak.fmf and tweak2.fmf, come from another very popular tactic, swagata1998’s Newcastle 4-2-3-1 Gegenpress. The difference between them is the training intensity. According to the description, tweak.fmf is for the first half of the season and the lighter tweak2.fmf for the second.
What the comments say
In the comments, the Highway Star 4-2-3-1 is the favourite. For example, one player says he was unbeaten with Everton, and another that his own tactic started badly but, with this one, he climbed back to 1st. However, someone else is struggling with Bournemouth.
The person who shared the pack also gave an idea of how to choose: he uses the 4-2-3-1 when he has a good attacking playmaker, such as Bruno Fernandes, and the 4-4-2 when he does not. Speed King, which plays like a 4-3-3, needs a defensive midfielder who can hold the middle alone. So the tactics are not variations of one idea, because even the positions change from one to the next.

Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 27\tactics. If the folder does not exist, create it. - Then copy
A15.fmfintoDocuments\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 27\set pieces. Mind the space in the folder name, because without it the game cannot find the file. - Next, copy the training schedules into
Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 27\schedules. - Finally, in the game, load each tactic on the Tactics screen and the set pieces on the set pieces screen. In Training, open the custom schedule and load the one you want to use.
Mind the Tactical Effectiveness
A full pack helps a lot, but in FM27 the tactic does not do everything on its own. Tactical Effectiveness measures whether the squad understands the idea, has players for each role and believes in the manager. So these tactics may not work for every team. Also, SI advises using no more than three tactics, and the main one will always be the most familiar. So pick one as your base, train it well and keep the others for specific games.
