Ever imagined Football Manager highlights with commentary in European Portuguese? The FM27 commentary mod by newbieboka does just that: it listens to the game’s events and plays the right spoken call, following the flow of the match. A goal, a penalty or a VAR decision now has a voice. The Portuguese edition has just had a big FM27 update.
What the FM27 commentary mod brings
Commentary plays during highlights and follows what happens on the pitch. For example, the score, the minute, the competition and the match context shape the lines you hear. There are also queues and pauses between calls, so it does not talk over itself and gives priority to the big moments.
- Goals and VAR: goals, replays, VAR reviews, overturned decisions and the restart.
- Set pieces: penalties, free kicks, corners, throw-ins and goal kicks.
- Match flow: pressure, comebacks, late tension and teams protecting a lead.
- Introductions: Premier League and Champions League openings, with club names in Portuguese.

Everything runs on your computer. In other words, you need no internet connection or subscription during a match, as the recordings come with the mod.
From the move to the call, without leaving the game
The Portuguese edition
The European Portuguese edition has its own audio bank, with recordings and connectors shaped for Portuguese grammar. However, it is still catching up with the English version, so some less common situations may be silent, and it does not fall back to English audio when a line is missing.
The author is also open about it: the voices were generated with AI (ElevenLabs), as they do not speak Portuguese and could not have recorded everything alone.

There are two packages for the Portuguese edition. Pick only one, and do not install the English version at the same time.

Plugin only – for existing BepInEx users
- First, close FM27.
- If you are updating, move the old
BepInEx\plugins\FM27AmbientCommentaryfolder out ofplugins. - Then extract the chosen .zip into the game folder,
Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 27. - Finally, open the game. On first launch the mod extracts its audio, which may take a little while.

Things to watch
The mod has only been tested on Windows. FM27 is also new, so some moments may not have commentary yet, and the author asks to be told what does not work.
