Matchday Sounds fills FM27’s stadiums with the sound of the fans: club anthems as the teams walk out, chants from both ends and goal music. Made by Gianlucasmr31, it brings over 2,670 chants, 295 anthems and goal music for 334 clubs in 17 leagues, Liga Portugal included. It does not replace FM’s crowd sound either: it sits on top of it and reacts to what happens on the pitch.

What you hear in a match
- Walk-out anthem: first, the home team comes out to its own anthem, which starts on the team selection screen and runs until kick-off.
- Chants from both ends: home and away fans each sing their own songs, independently. For example, you hear the away fans from where they sit in the stadium, in stereo.
- Stands that react: attendance sets the volume of each stand, so a full stadium sounds louder than a small away allocation. Also, the fans’ happiness or frustration changes how often they sing.
- Goal music: every home goal triggers the club’s goal music. The chants drop back during the celebration and return when play restarts.
- VAR and full time: during a VAR check the stands go quiet, and the music only plays if the goal stands. At the end, the winning fans keep celebrating.
- Volume in the game itself: finally, press F8 or click the small «FC» tab on the left of the screen and set each type of sound separately, with instant effect.

Leagues included
Germany is the most complete country, with the Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga, 3. Liga and all five Regionalligen. But there is also the Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A, Ligue 1, the Eredivisie, the Scottish Premiership and the Belgian Pro League. Finally, Liga Portugal, the Greek Super League, the Turkish Süper Lig and the Serbian leagues complete the list.
The author has levelled the volume of every file, so no chant is much louder than the others. He also asks players to tell him if a chant is missing or an anthem is wrong. In the first comments, there were already requests for Sweden, Croatia, Austria and other leagues.
Matchday Sounds or Goal Music Mod?
If you already use the Goal Music Mod, you will notice that both play goal music. The Goal Music Mod does only that, but with more options, such as the stadium reverb and the home or away choice. Matchday Sounds goes further, with anthems, chants and stands that react to the match. So it is best not to run both at once, or you will hear the goal music twice.
The author gives two options: remove the Goal Music Mod or switch off its goal music with the TorLied = false setting. That setting is in the Goal Music Mod’s config file, in the BepInEx\config folder. Then, for the full matchday, add the Portuguese commentary and you get commentary and crowd at the same time.
Matchday Sounds download
The current file is FMMatchdaySounds-1.3.zip, from 6 November, at about 3 GB. However, the author’s description still talks about version 1.1, which added the leagues outside Germany, over 2,000 chants and the F8 volume controls. The mod also needs BepInEx 6 IL2CPP. The link takes you to the file page, where the download is.
BepInEx 6 IL2CPP – official page
- First, if you do not have BepInEx 6 yet, download the «BepInEx-Unity.IL2CPP-win-x64» file and extract it into the game folder, next to
fm.exe. Start the game once and wait a few minutes. - Then extract the Matchday Sounds zip and close FM27.
- Next, run
MatchdaySounds-Installer.exeand pick the countries and leagues you want. They all come ticked, but you can leave out the ones you never play. - Finally, click «Install». The installer finds FM27 by itself, removes old versions of the mod and keeps any files you added.
Things to watch
The download is large, so picking only the leagues you play saves disk space. As it uses BepInEx and an .exe installer, it is made for the Windows version of the game. Also, the recordings belong to their owners and are only for private use inside the game. If you are unsure what is included, or want to request a club, the file page is the place to talk to the author.
The files are hosted by their original authors. FMPortugal only points to the official download page — all credit goes to their creators.
