We're still exploring FM26, but Sports Interactive isn't wasting any time: Football Manager 27 has been officially confirmed, and there are already some interesting details to share with you. It's not much yet (SI is keeping its cards close to its chest), but it's enough to get an idea of what's coming.
When does FM27 arrive?
For now we know the release is scheduled for November 2026, following the series' tradition. The exact date and confirmed platforms haven't been announced yet, but SI assures us we'll know more “in the coming weeks”.
The focus seems to be on fixing what went wrong in FM26
Let's be honest: FM26's launch wasn't exactly perfect, with plenty of criticism aimed at the navigation and interface. The good news is that Sports Interactive itself seems to have listened to that criticism. Chris Groves, SI's new community manager, summed up the philosophy behind FM27 well: the team is “evolving the current design, while bringing back ideas and behaviours that players value and that worked well in previous editions”.
In other words: less confusion navigating the menus, and the return of some things we've missed since FM switched to the Unity engine.
How development is being carried out
According to SI, the game is already in an advanced stage of development. Over 40,000 community members have signed up to take part in remote testing, and playtesting sessions are already taking place both remotely and at the studio itself. It's a good sign that this time the community will have more direct influence on the final product.
News coming as early as September
Starting in September, SI has promised to begin revealing more concrete information: deep dives into specific features, behind-the-scenes looks at development, and the first gameplay images. An official Discord server for Football Manager was also announced, designed to bring players and developers even closer together.
Platforms and price: what to expect
There's still no official confirmation of platforms or prices for FM27, but everything points to it staying similar to FM26: PC/Mac, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch (Touch version), and mobile versions via Apple Arcade and Netflix. You can already add the game to your wishlist on Steam, Epic Games, Microsoft Store, Xbox and PlayStation 5.
As for price, FM26 cost €49.99 on PC and console, and €39.99 on the Touch version. With the industry-wide rise in prices, it wouldn't be a surprise if FM27 came in slightly more expensive — but that's just our speculation for now.
