Updated version: Football Manager 2027 News: what we already know
The Football Manager 2019 news keeps coming. After the overhaul of the training and tactics modules, the introduction of VAR and the facelift of the graphical interface (you can read HERE), these are the latest features.
Licences and technical abilities
Work permits reworked:
- New press questions about different work permit scenarios.
- We will now get advice from the backroom staff about them.
- The subject is now discussed with the board and better integrated into the transfer system.
- We can loan players to specific countries to help solve the problem.
- Players can now reject contract renewals and moves to certain clubs if a permit is denied.
- We can choose whether or not to renew with a player if the permit is denied.
- We can try to convince a player without a permit to sign for our team.
- We can also convince a player in our team who has no permit that loaning him out is the best solution.
- Information will be available on how much longer we need to wait before work permit applications for specific players are reassessed. The backroom staff will also tell us when a reassessment becomes possible.

A stronger role for the backroom staff
Assistants now give advice on who to choose to replace players who are not fit
They also give their opinion in the pre-match analysis on who we should change in the eleven and why
The reworked training panel brought with it the ratings on our players' performance in training sessions. Another precious source of information to help pick the eleven.
Youth and loan management
Based on the information in the panel mentioned above, we can interact with players, not only to praise or warn them about their performance, but also to tell them they need to rest.
When we offer our young prospects on loan, we can now demand not only the position we want them to play but also their role on the pitch.
Medical department and standout players
The medical department has been improved. An injury forecast for the whole season will be available, taking into account the players' characteristics, training and our playing style. We can also compare the number of injuries we have with the league average.
In every game, the players who stand out will be highlighted in the match stats panel.
