Sports Interactive does not often tell you who to sign. This time it did. In an interview with FourFourTwo, SI’s Antony Farley named one player for anyone starting a career: Abdellah Ouazane, Ajax’s 17-year-old. So Ouazane in FM27 went from prospect to first signing for plenty of players as soon as the Launch Preview opened.
The tip from inside SI
Farley did not want to spoil any surprises, as discovery is part of the fun. Even so, he let one name slip, saying there is «a kid at Ajax, a 17-year-old left winger» who «looks like he’s going to be a very strong player this year». He also said that gems in more far-flung leagues are getting harder to find, but that the Ajax academy always produces good players.
Away from the game, the story is good too. Ouazane made his Ajax debut at 16, was called up by Morocco in September and was once close to joining Real Madrid.

In the game, he starts in Ajax’s U19s and plays as a midfielder or attacking midfielder on the left or in the centre, which makes inside winger his best role.

The technical side stands out straight away: 17 technique and first touch, and 15 crossing and dribbling. He also has 16 determination and 15 flair, which helps a lot with development.

However, the physical side is not there yet. Stamina is 7, strength 8 and work rate 9, so in the first seasons it pays to build up his minutes slowly.

The price of following the tip
The catch is the price. Ouazane is valued at £34M–£51M, and his Ajax contract only runs until June 2028. Anyone who wants to follow SI’s tip needs the budget in the very first transfer window.
Our take
It is rare for SI to single out a player like this, and that says a lot. Still, the fun of FM is finding the next Ouazane before everyone else does.
