A challenge that has been discussed among FM managers for years can finally be completed: the Hexagon Challenge. The Pentagon Challenge means winning all five continental championships in the game. Until now, there was always one missing: Oceania. With the OFC Professional League, that changes, and a Reddit user explained how.
What the OFC Professional League means for the Hexagon Challenge
The OFC Professional League began its first season this year. It is a fully professional competition with eight teams: two already existing and six new franchises across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. For example, the reigning champions are Auckland FC, also A-League champions and a regular presence in FM.
This league matters for the game. According to the post, Auckland FC is the only playable club that competes in both an in-game league and the OFC Professional League. The competition has also replaced the OFC Champions League as Oceania’s top continental competition, and its champions qualify for the Club World Cup and the Intercontinental Cup. Finally, in the 2026 Intercontinental Cup, Auckland FC lost 1-0 to Al-Ahli in the first round.
From Pentagon to Hexagon
In other words, anyone who has tried the Pentagon Challenge knows it is a long-term goal. You have to win the five continental championships available in the game. Since Oceania was never in the base game, the challenge always stayed incomplete.
There are now two ways to finish it. The first is to win the OFC Professional League with Auckland FC. On the other hand, the second is to go all the way and lead an Oceania side to the Club World Cup. So, with the sixth continent, the challenge becomes a Hexagon.
What the comments say about the Hexagon Challenge
Some users pointed out that the challenge was already possible with mods. One of them completed the Hexagon in FM23, starting with Rewa in Fiji and finishing with Napoli in the Champions League. Finally, another suggested Antarctica would be the next step.
However, there are doubts about FM27. One comment noted that it is still unknown whether the OFC Professional League will be in the game without a mod. It is worth checking once FM27 is out.
Our take on the Hexagon Challenge
So, for anyone who likes long challenges, this is a good reason to head to Oceania. And if Auckland FC does not get there, there is still the chance to take an Oceania side to the world title.
