The AsderBey 4231 FM27 tactic is the second most downloaded tactic in FM27, with almost 25,000 downloads. Its author, Turkey’s AsderBey, tested it with Galatasaray and had a perfect season in the Turkish league: 34 games and 34 wins. Also, he won the Champions League, beating Real Madrid in the final.
The tactic at a glance
It is a very narrow Tiki-Taka 4-2-3-1, with a Very Attacking mentality. The idea is to smother the opponent with a high press, quick short passing and plenty of players through the middle and down the left.
- At the back: first, a sweeper keeper (SK) and two ball-playing defenders (BPD) start the build-up. Out of possession, the centre-backs become pure central defenders (CD).
- Midfield: two defensive midfielders (DM) hold the middle and recycle the ball, with the full-backs (FB) in support.
- Attack: two inside forwards (IF) cut inside next to an attacking midfielder (AM) to feed the centre forward (CF). Out of possession, the inside forwards drop into winger (W) positions and form a compact block.

The team instructions
In possession, the team uses shorter passing, a higher tempo and a very narrow attack, to dominate the middle and play quick one-twos. Also, the goalkeeper distributes quickly, and play focuses on the left flank, with left-sided support runs. Players are also told to run at the defence and pass into space. Finally, crosses are low, to give easy goals to the striker and the opposite inside forward.

Out of possession, the tactic combines a high press with a much higher defensive line that steps up even more to squeeze the pitch. Also, the team counter-presses, presses with great urgency, gets stuck in and prevents short goalkeeper distribution. So the opponent has almost no time on the ball and often loses it just outside their own box.

The results with Galatasaray
In the league, Galatasaray took 102 points, 40 clear of second place, with 108 goals scored and only 21 conceded. That is more than three goals a game and 17 clean sheets. In total, the team went 57 games unbeaten across the league, the Champions League and the cup.

The big star was the striker. Victor Osimhen scored 52 goals in 30 league games, and 72 in all competitions. So the author says a fast, strong striker will break every record with this tactic. Behind him, Rafael Leão had 16 goals and 21 assists, Yunus Akgün 27 assists and Alexey Batrakov 11 goals and 23 assists.

- First, download the
AsderBey • 4-2-3-1 • New Tactics.fmffile. - Then copy it into
Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 27\tactics. If thetacticsfolder does not exist, create it. - Next, start the game, go to the Tactics screen and load the tactic from the tactic menu, using the import option.
- Finally, check each player’s role and get the team training the new tactic.
Mind the Tactical Effectiveness
The numbers are impressive, but in FM27 the tactic does not do everything on its own. Tactical Effectiveness measures whether the squad understands the idea, has players for each role and believes in you. So this tactic may not work for every team. In fact, in the comments, a player who also used it at Galatasaray complained of one win, two draws and three defeats in his first six games.
