What if Manchester City were really punished for breaking the Premier League’s financial rules? SirTAVARES’ Manchester City – 114 Challenge imagines the worst possible aftermath: the club is found guilty, thrown out of top-level football and relegated all the way to the National League North, the sixth tier of English football. But relegation is only the start.
What changes
- City drop to the National League North;
- every first-team and squad player leaves;
- all coaching and backroom staff leave;
- the board is removed;
- the club’s finances and financial backing are wiped out;
- sponsorships and affiliated-club relationships disappear;
- the league titles since 2009 are removed.
It is a fictional 18 kB file, and the challenge is to rebuild one of England’s biggest clubs almost from scratch. Version 1.1, from 7 October 2026, also removed the English cup trophies. The author warns that City may still show up in some places, such as the Community Shield, depending on the promotions and relegations file you are using.
