The result? Aston Villa would use much of their budget on Mason Holgate (\u00a340M) from Everton, who would use that money to sign James Ward-Prowse from Southampton.<br \/>\nManchester United, Leicester and Huddersfield stayed out of the market.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1099\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1099\" style=\"width: 700px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1099 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/fmportugal.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/FM-sim-1.png\" alt=\"Simula\u00e7\u00e3o da Liga Inglesa sem estrangeiros\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1099\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Simulation of the English league without foreigners<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Fim_da_1a_volta_e_mercado_de_Inverno\"><\/span>End of the first half of the season and winter window<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<p>Manchester United and Tottenham comfortably led a table sunk in chaos.<br \/>\nBournemouth third, while Arsenal, City and Chelsea fought fiercely&#8230;.for 11th place in the table.<br \/>\nYes, Abramovich's side, which had sacked Sarri, was battling for a mid-table place alongside two other title contenders; however, the naturalised English Belgian, Hazard, topped the league's <em>ratings<\/em> table, with an average of 8.13.<br \/>\nHuddersfield felt the new rule most, managing only 2 points in 14 games.<\/p>\n<p>Guardiola, who would be replaced by Simeone right after the winter window closed, would invest \u00a357M in Zaha; Ramsey would go to the Toffees for \u00a350M and Southampton would pay \u00a348.5M for Matt Phillips from West Brom.<br \/>\nUnai Emery would also be sacked and replaced at the Emirates by Ancelotti, after falling to 16th in the table.<br \/>\nMourinho, despite leading the league, would be the one to loosen the <em>purse strings<\/em>, signing James Tarkowski, Kieran Tierney and Scott Arfield for \u00a393M.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1100\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1100\" style=\"width: 700px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1100 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/fmportugal.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/FM-sim-4.png\" alt=\"Simula\u00e7\u00e3o da Liga Inglesa sem estrangeiros\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1100\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Simulation of the English league without foreigners: Transfers<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Final_de_epoca\"><\/span>End of season<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<p>The <em>Special One<\/em>, unlike what has been happening in reality, easily wins England's top trophy, with 90 points.<br \/>\nTottenham and their batch of Englishmen, initially one of the big title contenders, finished second with only a one point lead over Burnley, while Leicester missed out on the last Champions League spot on goal difference, by one goal, to Liverpool.<br \/>\nIn last place, Huddersfield got their only win of the season in the final round.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the protectionism the rule was meant to bring, foreigners still dominated the league, with Ag\u00fcero, Lukaku and Giroud topping the scoring charts, while Hazard was named player of the competition.
