This policy explains what data is collected when you visit FMPortugal.net, what it is used for and what rights you have over it.
1. Who we are
FMPortugal.net (FMPortugal, the Official Portuguese Football Manager Research) is the controller of the data collected on this site. For any privacy question, contact us at fmresearchpt@gmail.com.
2. What data we collect
- Browsing data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and date and time of access. This is collected automatically by the server and by the tools listed below.
- Cookies and similar technologies: explained in detail in our Cookie Policy.
- Downloads: we count how many times each file is downloaded. This count does not identify who downloaded it.
- Contact: if you send us an email or a message, we only use your contact details to reply to you.
- Preferences: the dark mode and language you choose are stored in your browser and are not sent to us.
3. How we use the data
- Keeping the site running and secure, including protection against abusive access.
- Producing usage statistics with Google Analytics, to understand which content is most useful.
- Showing advertising with Google AdSense, which helps keep the site free.
The legal basis is your consent for statistics and advertising, and our legitimate interest for the running and security of the site.
4. Advertising (Google AdSense)
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's previous visits to this website or other websites. Advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on those visits.
You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings or at www.aboutads.info. To find out more, see how Google uses data from partner sites.
On your first visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a Google consent message certified under the IAB TCF is shown, where you can accept, reject or manage your choices. If you reject, non-personalised ads may be shown. To change your choice, delete this site's cookies in your browser: the message will appear again on your next visit.
5. Statistics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode, which only stores statistics cookies if you give your consent. The data is analysed in aggregate, for statistical purposes only.
6. Affiliate links
Some links to buy Football Manager, such as those to Eneba and Instant Gaming, are affiliate links. If you buy through them, FMPortugal earns a small commission at no extra cost to you. When you follow these links, the privacy policy of the relevant store applies.
7. External services and content
The site includes links and content from other services, such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Discord and Google Drive. These services may collect data under their own privacy policies.
8. Data sharing
We do not sell personal data. Browsing data is processed by the providers named in this policy (Google and our hosting provider), who may process it outside the European Union with the safeguards set out in the GDPR, such as the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
9. How long we keep the data
Google Analytics data is kept for the period set in the tool, up to a maximum of 14 months. Technical server logs are kept only for as long as needed for the security of the site. Emails are kept for as long as needed to answer your request.
10. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access your data, to correct it, to erase it, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise these rights, write to fmresearchpt@gmail.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, CNPD), at www.cnpd.pt.
11. Minors
FMPortugal does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us personal data, please contact us so that we can delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy whenever necessary. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
